Mrs. Manning's Class: Classroom Expectations

On the first day of school, we sat down as a 4th grade class and created expectations! The kids brainstormed in groups and created a set of CAT-Tastic Classroom Expectations as a team!

Come prepared! Act safely! Take responsibility! Show respect!

Classroom:	C	A	T	S
Morning Transitions (Moving from room to room, to lunch, recess, and specials) Instruction time (When Mrs. Manning is teaching) Work Time (Independent, Group or Partner) End of the Day	Bring my planner, homework, backpack, and school supplies Study Bring my homework, pencils, lunch, extra slip, tennis shoes, equipment, and coat Have my materials ready Be ready to participate, work together, and ask questions Have my materials ready (pencils, books, paper, etc...) Clear my workspace Have my planner filled out *Have my homework in my binder	Walk in the hallway and into the classroom Use supplies appropriately Keep my hands and feet to myself Walk in the hallway Carry materials appropriately (hug, in both hands) Be aware of cords Use materials appropriately Keep all 4 legs of my chair on the ground Use materials appropriately Keep all 4 legs of the chair on the ground Be aware of cords Walk Walk Push my chair in	Turn in my homework Get to work right away Fill out my planner Hang up my backpack and coat Solve my problem in an appropriate way Walk in a straight line Be honest Pick up dropped materials Listen Look at Mrs. Manning Clear off my desk and leave appropriate materials Focus on the task Work quietly Do my part of the task Work as a team Share your ideas Pick up my mess Clean off my desk *Pick up the room	Listen to each other Raise your hand to ask questions or comment Work quietly Respect everybody’s desk space Listen to the directions that the teachers give Zero level voice Get to where I need to be appropriately Be polite and use manners Listen and look at the teacher Zero voice Respect others’ learning (zero voice, keep hands and feet to myself) Respect others’ space and property Find a quiet place to work Share materials Compromise Listen to others’ ideas Help each other Help others Do my part of the cleaning Keep my hands and feet to myself
