Behavior Chart

Clip it! 

 This is our classroom behavior chart. 

If the kids do a great job of following the expectations they created for the classroom they will clip up on our behavior chart.  If they cannot follow the expectations they created for the classroom, they will clip down.  

How does Clip It work?

Moving Up on the Chart

Green (Here and Ready to Learn) Everyday each kid will start on green. 

Purple (Good Start! Keep it Up!) If they get their planners signed each night, they have the opportunity to move up to purple right away in the morning.

Blue (Showing C.A.T.S. Pride) They earn a star on their clip if they are on blue at the end of the day.

Pink (Outstanding C.A.T.S. Role Model) They earn a star on their clip if they are on pink at the end of the day.  If they are on pink and are asked to clip up, they earn C.A.T.S. cards throughout the day.

Moving Down on the Chart

Yellow (Need to Think About my Choices) This step allows the kids to think about the choices they are making. 

Orange (Reflect...What do I need to change?) The kids will write about the choices that led them to orange.  Then they will reflect and make a plan as to how they are going to make better choices and move up the chart.  They will develop a plan during their recess time.  

Red: (Contact Home)  Depending on the situation and the time of day, the kids will either write a letter home about the choices they made that will require a signature and is to be returned the next day, call home, or I will email their parents.  They will write their letter or call home during their recess time. 

White (The Principal's Den) The kids will need to visit Mr. Kauk's office to discuss the choices they have made.    

Rewards

After 5 stars they earn a reward and their clip will be colored red.  After the next set of 5 stars they color their clip the orange, but will not earn a reward.  It continues with this pattern until they go through all colors of the rainbow.  After the last color, they will Glitz their clip (decorate their final clip however they would like to).  After every 5 stars they will earn a reward.  

Order of colors for their clips: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, Glitz
